Project Overview

Located in Tong'an District, Xiamen, the Tong'an Wastewater Treatment Plant plays a critical role in protecting the region’s water environment. With rapid urban expansion and industrial development in Tong'an, the increasing discharge of domestic sewage and industrial wastewater led to severe water pollution, with local water bodies turning black and odorous. This situation significantly affected residents’ quality of life and the district’s investment environment.

To win the battle against water pollution, the Tong'an Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase IV Project broke ground in 2019. The plant is designed with a treatment capacity of 150,000 m³/day, with effluent quality required to meet Xiamen’s stringent local standard: Class IV surface water quality.

2. Project Partnership with PROBEST

In April 2021, PROBEST successfully won the bid for the online monitoring equipment procurement project for the Tong'an Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase IV. Our smart water quality monitoring systems have been fully delivered and put into continuous operation.

By deploying PROBEST’s independently developed online water quality analyzers, the plant now achieves real-time, 24/7 monitoring of key parameters including Turbidity, pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (CODcr), Ammonia Nitrogen (NH3-N), Total Nitrogen (TN), and Total Phosphorus (TP). These high-precision instruments ensure the treatment process runs efficiently, and effluent quality consistently meets the Class IV surface water standard, directly improving regional hydrological conditions and water ecosystem health.
